Outstanding
Senior Project Award. www.kpbrouwers.com/trailer.asp
Top mechanical engineering project for the academic year at
Cal Poly. Designed and built a steel trailer chassis. Created
3D CAD and finite element analysis (FEA) to size structural members
and select material based on strength. Conducted testing to evaluate
performance parameters using a datalogger, strain gages and accelerometers.
Built circuitry to support instrumentation.

RECENT PROJECTS.
 |
CAD
modeling.
www.kpbrouwers.com/proengineer.asp
Created a demonstration of animation and part modeling
for a pulley assembly. Modeled assembly in Pro/ENGINEER and
SolidWorks. From 2D drawings, implemented planar sketch geometry,
solid model extrusions, revolved cuts, fillets, radially patterned
holes, and mirrored features. Aligned parts in the assembly. |
 |
Technical drawings.
www.kpbrouwers.com/gpsbracket.asp#drawings
Prepared standardized title block templates for SolidWorks
and Pro/ENGINEER 2D engineering drawings. Included part
name, part number and revision number, engineer, checked
by, drafter, company name, approvals, material and finish
specifications, tolerances, and space for drawing views,
revision block, and bill of materials.

Mechanical
and electronic systems design, construction, and testing.
www.kpbrouwers.com/mechatronics.asp
Designed, built, and programmed a mechatronic vehicle
using an MPU, various RC and IC electronic components integrated
with motors on an aluminum vehicle chassis. |
 |
Engineering
analysis.
www.kpbrouwers.com/vibrations.asp
Presented a study using PowerPoint before a graduate-course
in mechanical vibrations assessing the use of internal channels
in circular disks to increase resonant frequencies of recording
media for computer hard drives. Verified findings with Pro/ENGINEER
Mechanica modal FEA. |
